Transitional Cycle Ways
Berhampore to Newtown, Wellington
As part of Wellington City Council’s initiative to improve cycling safety and connectivity, we were engaged by John Fillmore Contracting to carry out Bus Stop Safety Improvements along the 1.7 km Island Bay Transitional Cycleway.
The primary objective of this project was to enhance safety at key bus stop locations, ensuring a secure interface between cyclists, pedestrians, and public transport users.
Our scope included:
Demolition and site preparation
Kerb installation: Hand-boxed, poured in situ
Tactile pavers for accessibility
Asphalt surfacing
Construction of new raised bus stop platforms
Timber Bus Stop platform
Our team approached the project with a commitment to quality and urban integration, delivering a result that balances function, safety, and adaptability. We're proud to have contributed to a network that makes Wellington’s streets more accessible and future-ready.
